Our documents, in the open
A charity should answer a funder's questions before they are asked. Everything on this page is public.
Who we are
A 501(c)(3) public charity is a nonprofit that the IRS has confirmed works for the public good and is meant to be supported by the public, not by one family or company.

Our board adopted a $150,000 budget for 2027. About 82.7% goes to program work, 5.3% to fundraising and 12.0% to management and general costs.
Governance: how our board makes decisions
Our board has three directors. Two of them are independent physicians. Under our bylaws, an independent director:
- has no ownership or financial interest in FindMyDirectDoctor, LLC, the company that built the directory technology,
- is not paid by that company, and
- is not related to our founder, Harsha Moole, MD.
Harsha owns FindMyDirectDoctor, LLC by himself. That company licenses the directory technology to our Foundation under a written agreement. A license is written permission to use something that someone else owns. Because Harsha is on both sides of that agreement, we have clear rules.
Harsha steps out. He does not take part in or vote on any decision that involves the company. Only the two independent directors vote on the license.
The Treasurer manages the license. Our Treasurer, Achuta Uppu, MD, is an independent director. He manages the license day to day, instead of Harsha.
A yearly review. The independent directors review the license and its costs once a year.
A yearly statement. Every director and officer signs a conflict of interest statement each year. A conflict of interest is when a person's own interests could pull against what is best for the charity.
No pay. No director or officer is paid.
Our Secretary, Christina Delgado, EdD, is married to Harsha. She is an officer, not a director, so she does not vote on board decisions.
How the directory works, and who owns what
We want to be plain about this, because it is the first thing a careful funder will ask.
The directory technology was built by FindMyDirectDoctor, LLC, starting in 2020. When our Foundation was formed in 2026, it signed a license with the company to run the directory as a free charity program.
What our Foundation pays. The license fee is set at cost, with no markup. It can never be more than what it would cost our Foundation to run the directory by itself, or more than a fair market price. Nothing is owed until the independent directors set a start date, and nothing is charged for the time before that date.
What the company does on its own. The company also runs its own website, findmydirectdoctor.com. Some of its pages carry paid offers. The company pays all the costs of that commercial work. Our Foundation does not promote those offers or share in them.
What happens when you search from our site
Directory search results are hosted on findmydirectdoctor.com under our license. Here is what that means for you.
Where your results open. When you search from this site, your results open on findmydirectdoctor.com, the website of FindMyDirectDoctor, LLC.
What you see there. You see the Foundation View. That is a clean version of the directory pages, run for our Foundation under our license, with our name on it.
What is left out. The Foundation View shows no ads and no sales offers. No advertising or marketing tracking runs there. The only analytics, the tools that count how people use the pages, are our Foundation's own. The company may not use your visit to market to you.
If you message a doctor. When you use the Message button on a doctor's profile, your name, contact details and message go to that practice through the directory system run by the company. We may count that a message was sent, so we can report how many people the directory helps.
If you leave the Foundation View. If you go to a different part of findmydirectdoctor.com, for example by typing a different web address, you are on the company's own website. Its own pages, offers and privacy policy apply there.
What we do not do. We do not recommend one doctor over another, and a listing is not an endorsement. We are not a medical provider. In an emergency, call 911.
Our Privacy Policy explains the details, including the one short-lived cookie that keeps you in the Foundation View.
